THE REFINERY CREATIVE INCUBATOR

The Refinery is an annual creative incubator program that supports independent artists and creative industry practitioners to establish and grow viable and sustainable businesses.

A testing ground and training platform, The Refinery connects the dots between creativity and business, with access to mentors and a network of inspiring industry leaders sharing real time knowledge.

Launched in 2019 through a partnership between Sunshine Coast Council, SunCentral and the MET, and the Sunshine Coast Creative Alliance, the program has supported 58 creative businesses across four successful years.

In 2023, the 10-week intensive program, delivered 2 days per week, has a renewed focus on personal growth and leadership, with a learning curriculum designed to build participants’ capacity to grow their practice, gain visibility, understand their value and the context in which they operate, identify new
markets and be positioned to become the Sunshine Coast’s next creative leaders.
