Celebrating the MCC as a Place for People

A new temporary public artwork celebrating the importance of community is now on display at the MET in the Maroochydore City Centre.

As part of the MCC Creative Hoarding Program, local artist Kym Tabulo’s bold new digital collage, Excited to See You Here is the second artwork commissioned as part of the ‘A Place for People’ series.

Playing with the distinctive architecture of City Hall and drawing inspiration from local flora, fauna and landscape, Kym’s work examines the effects of spatial transformation on people and the positive energy required to create a sustainable future for all. Kym’s large scale 6.3m work can be seen on the gallery wall at the MET until May 2024.

The MCC Creative Hoarding Program is part of the your city. your story. curatorial framework.

We acknowledge the Traditional owners, the Kabi Kabi/Gubbi Gubbi people, of the land on which we live and work. We pay our deep respect to their elders past, present and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today, throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
