$2,000 OPPORTUNITY FOR ARTISTS – EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST ARE NOW OPEN

EOI’s are now open for the latest round of commissions for the MCC Creative Hoarding Program.

Sunshine Coast artists are invited to submit expressions of interest for paid commissions of digital works that respond to the brief of A Place for People.

Three commissions will be selected this round with the successful applicant’s artwork displayed over a four-month period at the Metropolitan (the MET) creative precinct within the new Maroochydore City Centre.

The initiative forms part of the yourcity. yourstory. curatorial framework that places arts-based programming at the heart of the shaping of the new Maroochydore City Centre story.

Selected artists will receive a $2,000 (+ GST) commission fee for the reproduction of their digital artwork onto our pop up gallery wall at the MET with a street frontage onto First Avenue. Artwork will be printed onto three ACM boards at total dimensions of 6.3m long x 1.1m high. The works will
be on public display temporarily and also be included as part of our content across all of our digital platforms.

Applicants from the Sunshine Coast or Noosa LGA’s are eligible to apply and will be required to respond to the brief, A Place for People – an invitation to creatively imagine and explore the human scale of our city, now and into the future.

Submissions for the next round of yourcity. yourstory. Creative Hoarding Program open on Monday 3 July at 9am and close on Monday 31 st July at 5pm.

The first commission in this round will be on display 1 September 2023.

For more information and details on how to apply, please download the EOI document.

We pay our deep respect to their elders past, present and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today, throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community.
