Creative Hoarding Artists Announced

With a record number of artists applying for the Creative Hoarding program this round, we are excited to commission artworks from First Nations Artist, Mandy Draper, Jaime Kiss and Kym Tabulo in response to the brief ‘A Place for People’.
Mandy Draper is a proud First Nations Women from Darug Country in NSW who has been living on Gubbi Gubbi/Kabi Kabi Country for over 28 years. Her artistic practice connects her to her culture and her own sense of well being.
Dr Kym Tabulo is a local artist and permanent member of the Moffat Beach based, Seaview Artist’s Gallery. Her work explores the concept of ‘a place for people’ in both physical and metaphysical terms, and is informed by the effects of spatial transformation on people.
Jaime Kiss is a Peregian Beach based contemporary artist and collaborator with Studio 26. After studying in Brazil and the UK, his work is filled with an abundant curiosity for the world and its inhabitants, expressed in geometric compositions using the power of colour and simple lines.

The first of these commissions by Mandy Draper will be on display from early September 2023 on our pop up gallery wall at the MET as part of our your city. your story curatorial framework.
Coming up on Tuesday 12 September, a lunchtime launch event and artist talk will take place at the MET.
